Phuc Tran

About

Phuc Tran is a Vietnamese American author, tattoo artist, and Latin teacher based in Portland, Maine. Born in Vietnam, he immigrated to the United States as a refugee in the 1970s, an experience that profoundly shaped his worldview and writing. His memoir "Sigh, Gone" weaves together his coming-of-age story in small-town Pennsylvania with reflections on classic literature, cultural identity, and the immigrant experience. A gifted storyteller with a sharp wit and deep intellectual curiosity, Tran also delivers compelling talks on language, grammar, and the power of subjunctive thinking. He is celebrated for his unique blend of humor and vulnerability.
