About

Eve J. Chung is a Korean American author whose debut novel, "Daughters of Shandong," tells the multigenerational story of a Chinese family's resilience through war and upheaval. Born in South Korea and raised in the United States, Chung draws upon her grandmother's experiences fleeing China during the Japanese invasion to craft this sweeping historical saga. A graduate of Duke University and Columbia Law School, she practiced law before turning to fiction writing. Her work explores themes of survival, family bonds, and the immigrant experience, bringing overlooked narratives of East Asian history to contemporary readers with vivid storytelling and emotional depth.
