Taiye Selasi

Taiye Selasi is a celebrated British-American writer and photographer, known for her vivid storytelling and exploration of diasporic identities. Born in London to Nigerian and Ghanaian parents, and raised in Massachusetts, Selasi's multicultural background richly informs her work. Her acclaimed debut novel, "Ghana Must Go," deftly examines family dynamics and cultural dislocation. Selasi coined the term "Afropolitan," capturing the global experiences of African-descended individuals. A graduate of Yale and Oxford, she is a Rhodes Scholar and an acclaimed voice in contemporary literature.
