Bruno Schulz (1892–1942) was a renowned Polish writer and artist, best known for his mesmerizing prose and surreal illustrations. Born in Drohobycz, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Schulz spent most of his life in this small town, which infused his narratives with a distinctive blend of myth and memory. His major works, "The Street of Crocodiles" and "Sanatorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass," showcase his talent for blending the fantastical with the banal. Schulz's vivid storytelling and unique visual style have left an indelible mark on Polish literature. Tragically, his life was cut short during the Holocaust.
