About

Bram Stoker (1847-1912) was an Irish author best known for his iconic Gothic novel, "Dracula," published in 1897. Born in Dublin, Stoker overcame ill health as a child to attend Trinity College, where he graduated with honors in mathematics. He worked as a civil servant and theater critic before becoming the manager of the famous Lyceum Theatre in London under Sir Henry Irving. This career granted him rich experiences that would influence his writing. Stoker wrote several other novels and short stories, though none achieved the lasting fame of "Dracula," which remains a classic of horror literature.
