Megan E. Freeman is an American author best known for her acclaimed middle-grade novels written in verse. Her debut novel, "Alone," tells the gripping story of a girl surviving by herself in an abandoned city and became a New York Times bestseller, earning starred reviews and multiple honors. Freeman's follow-up, "Away," further showcases her distinctive poetic style and ability to explore themes of resilience and survival. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked as a teacher and educational consultant. Freeman holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives in Colorado.
