His works often explore themes of heroism, love, and the human condition, reflecting his experiences during World War I, the Spanish Civil War, and World War II. Hemingway's most celebrated novels include "The Old Man and the Sea," "A Farewell to Arms," and "For Whom the Bell Tolls." He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954. Hemingway died in 1961.
