Shida Bazyar is a German author of Iranian descent, celebrated for her sharp, politically engaged fiction that explores identity, belonging, and the immigrant experience. Born in 1988 in Hermeskeil, Germany, she studied literary writing in Hildesheim. Her debut novel, "Nachts ist es leise in Teheran" (2016), traces an Iranian family across three generations and earned widespread critical acclaim. Her second novel, "Drei Kameradinnen" (2021), a bold and darkly comic examination of racism and friendship in contemporary Germany, became a bestseller and cemented her reputation as one of the most vital voices in modern German literature.
