Alaa Al Aswany

Alaa Al Aswany is a renowned Egyptian author and columnist known for his incisive exploration of Egyptian society and politics. Born in Cairo in 1957, he pursued a career in dentistry alongside his literary endeavors. Al Aswany gained international acclaim with "The Yacoubian Building," a novel depicting the complexities of life in modern Cairo, which became one of the best-selling Arabic novels.
