Robert M. Hazen is a distinguished research scientist, author, and educator known for his pioneering work in mineralogy and complex systems. A senior staff scientist at the Carnegie Institution’s Geophysical Laboratory and Professor Emeritus at George Mason University, Hazen has authored over 400 scientific articles and 20 books.
