Esi Edugyan is a celebrated Canadian novelist known for her rich storytelling and exploration of historical and cultural themes. Born in Calgary, Alberta, she holds a Master’s degree in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. Her novel *Half-Blood Blues*, set against the backdrop of World War II, won the 2011 Scotiabank Giller Prize. Edugyan’s subsequent novel, *Washington Black*, also garnered critical acclaim, winning the 2018 Giller Prize and being shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize among others. Her work delves into themes of identity, belonging, and the intricacies of the human spirit, earning her a prominent place in contemporary literature.
