Nadeem Aslam is a celebrated British-Pakistani novelist known for his richly atmospheric prose and intricate storytelling. Born in Pakistan in 1966, Aslam moved to the UK with his family at the age of 14. He studied biochemistry at the University of Manchester before embarking on a literary career. His debut novel, "Season of the Rainbirds," was published in 1993 to critical acclaim, winning the Betty Trask Award. Aslam's subsequent works, including "Maps for Lost Lovers" and "The Wasted Vigil," further showcase his lyrical style and focus on themes of love, loss, and cultural dislocation. His novels often explore the complex interplay between personal and political narratives.
