Jamila Rowser

Jamila Rowser is a writer and arts administrator based in Maryland. She is best known as the co-creator of "Wash Day Diaries," a groundbreaking webcomic-turned-graphic novel that celebrates Black women's friendships, natural hair care, and everyday life. The series, illustrated by Roberta Gregory, has garnered acclaim for its authentic portrayal of Black womanhood and community. Rowser's work focuses on amplifying diverse voices and stories often underrepresented in mainstream media. Through her writing, she explores themes of identity, culture, and the intimate bonds between women, bringing warmth and relatability to narratives centered on Black women's experiences.
