Her epic trilogy, "Kristin Lavransdatter," set in 14th-century Norway, earned her the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1928 for its powerful depiction of Scandinavian life and themes of faith, identity, and love. Undset was an ardent Catholic convert and influenced literary circles with her keen insights into the struggles of ordinary people.
