Edgar P. Jacobs

Edgar P. Jacobs was a Belgian comic book creator best known for his iconic series "Blake and Mortimer." Born in Brussels in 1904, Jacobs initially pursued opera singing before turning to illustration and comics. He collaborated with Hergé on "The Adventures of Tintin" before launching his own series in 1946. His meticulous artwork and sophisticated storytelling elevated the European comic medium. Works like "The Yellow 'M'" and "The Mystery of the Great Pyramid" showcase his talent for blending science fiction, adventure, and mystery. Jacobs's influence on Franco-Belgian comics remains profound. He passed away in 1987.
