Izzeldin Abuelaish

Izzeldin Abuelaish is a renowned Palestinian-Canadian physician, author, and peace advocate, best known for his tireless work promoting peace and reconciliation in the Middle East. Born and raised in the Gaza Strip, Abuelaish overcame adversity to become a doctor and serve in Israeli hospitals, advocating for mutual understanding between Israelis and Palestinians. His memoir, "I Shall Not Hate: A Gaza Doctor’s Journey on the Road to Peace and Human Dignity," recounts his personal experiences of tragedy and his steadfast commitment to breaking the cycle of violence. He founded the Daughters for Life Foundation, supporting the education of women in the Middle East.
