Angela Buchdahl is a prominent American rabbi, cantor, and author known for her trailblazing role as the first Asian-American to be ordained as both a cantor and a rabbi in North America. Born to a Korean mother and an American Jewish father, she brings a uniquely personal perspective to questions of identity, faith, and belonging. As Senior Rabbi of Central Synagogue in New York City, one of the largest Reform congregations in the United States, Buchdahl is a celebrated voice in contemporary Jewish life. Her book "Heart of a Stranger" explores themes of otherness, spirituality, and the meaning of home.
