Vikram Chandra

Vikram Chandra is an acclaimed Indian author celebrated for his richly woven narratives and intricate storytelling. Born in 1961 in New Delhi, he later moved to the United States where he pursued studies in film and creative writing. Chandra's literary debut, "Red Earth and Pouring Rain," won both the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best First Book and the David Higham Prize for Fiction. His novel "Sacred Games," a compelling crime saga set in Mumbai, has been adapted into a successful Netflix series. Chandra divides his time between writing and teaching creative writing at the University of California, Berkeley.
