Born in 1948 in Peekskill, New York, he has authored over a dozen novels and numerous short stories, characterized by their satirical, often comedic exploration of American society. Boyle's works, including "The Tortilla Curtain," "The Road to Wellville," and "Drop City," reflect his keen interest in environmental and social themes. With a distinctive style that blends vivid storytelling and sharp humor, he has received numerous awards, including the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Boyle is also a Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus at the University of Southern California.
