Aleksandar Hemon is a Bosnian-American author renowned for his richly imaginative storytelling and insightful exploration of identity, displacement, and the immigrant experience. Born in Sarajevo in 1964, Hemon moved to the United States in 1992, just before the outbreak of war in Bosnia. He began writing in English in 1995 and gained acclaim with his debut novel, "Nowhere Man," followed by notable works like "The Lazarus Project." Hemon's writing, characterized by its linguistic prowess and emotional depth, has earned him numerous accolades, including a MacArthur Fellowship. He is also an esteemed contributing writer for The New Yorker.
