Justin Martyr was a second-century Christian philosopher and apologist, widely regarded as one of the earliest and most influential defenders of the Christian faith. Born around 100 AD in Flavia Neapolis in the Roman province of Syria Palaestina, he explored various philosophical schools before converting to Christianity, which he embraced as the true philosophy. His most notable works include the "First Apology," the "Second Apology," and the "Dialogue with Trypho." Addressing his writings to Roman emperors and Jewish scholars, he sought to reconcile faith with reason. He was martyred in Rome around 165 AD, earning him his famous epithet.
