Deepa Anappara

Deepa Anappara, an acclaimed Indian author, was born in Kerala. She is celebrated for her debut novel, "Djinn Patrol on the Purple Line," which received widespread praise for its vivid storytelling and deep exploration of social issues in contemporary India. Before becoming a novelist, she worked as a journalist for over a decade, reporting on the impact of poverty and religious violence on the education of children. Her journalism has won numerous awards, including the Developing Asia Journalism Award and the Every Human Has Rights Media Award. Anappara holds a Creative Writing MA from the University of East Anglia.
