Andre Dao

Andre Dao is a Vietnamese-Australian writer, editor, and human rights advocate. He is the author of "Anam," a critically acclaimed debut novel that weaves together intergenerational stories of displacement, memory, and identity. Dao co-founded Behind the Wire, an oral history project documenting the experiences of people held in Australia's offshore immigration detention system. He has been a legal adviser for asylum seekers and refugees. His writing has appeared in numerous publications, exploring themes of migration, justice, and belonging. "Anam" won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for Fiction and established Dao as a powerful new voice in contemporary literature.
