Aria Aber

Aria Aber

About

Aria Aber is an Afghan-German poet whose work explores themes of displacement, identity, and the reverberations of war. Born in Germany to Afghan parents who fled the Soviet invasion, she writes with striking clarity about the refugee experience and intergenerational trauma. Her debut collection "Hard Damage" received critical acclaim for its unflinching examination of violence and survival. Her second collection "Good Girl" further establishes her as a vital voice in contemporary poetry, interrogating gender, family, and belonging. Aber's work has appeared in numerous literary journals, and she currently teaches creative writing while continuing to explore the complexities of diaspora.
