Kallistos Ware, born Timothy Ware in 1934, is a renowned bishop and theologian in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Raised in England and educated at Westminster School and Magdalen College, Oxford, Ware was drawn to Orthodoxy, converting in 1958. He became a monk in 1966, adopting the name Kallistos. Ware served as the Spalding Lecturer of Eastern Orthodox Studies at Oxford and later as Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia. His written works, such as "The Orthodox Way" and "The Orthodox Church," have been influential in disseminating Eastern Orthodox theology and spirituality to the Western world. His teachings emphasize unity, love, and mysticism.
