Khaled Hosseini is an acclaimed Afghan-American author known for his poignant storytelling and vivid depictions of life in Afghanistan. Born in Kabul in 1965, Hosseini moved to the United States in 1980. He published his debut novel, "The Kite Runner," in 2003, which became an international bestseller and was adapted into a successful film and stage play. His subsequent works, "A Thousand Splendid Suns" and "And the Mountains Echoed," further cemented his reputation as a master storyteller. Hosseini’s work often explores themes of friendship, family, and the resilience of the human spirit. He is also a dedicated humanitarian, serving as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.
