Walter Yeeling Evans-Wentz (1878–1965) was an esteemed anthropologist and writer renowned for his pioneering work in bringing Tibetan spirituality and Buddhist texts to the Western world. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Evans-Wentz pursued his education at Stanford University and Jesus College, Oxford. His travels to the East sparked a deep interest in Eastern philosophy and mysticism, leading to the seminal translations of Tibetan texts such as "The Tibetan Book of the Dead." Through his work, Evans-Wentz sought to bridge Eastern and Western spiritual traditions, influencing a generation of scholars and spiritual enthusiasts interested in the teachings of Buddhism.
