Susan Lieu is a Vietnamese American writer, performer, and educator based in Seattle. She is the author of the memoir "The Manicurist's Daughter," which explores her journey to uncover the truth about her mother's death from cosmetic surgery and examines intergenerational trauma within immigrant families. Lieu's work has been featured in numerous publications and she is known for her solo show "140 LBS: How Beauty Killed My Mother," which toured nationally. Her writing combines personal narrative with cultural critique, addressing themes of identity, loss, and the immigrant experience. She holds an MFA and teaches creative writing.
