Robbie Robertson was a legendary Canadian musician, songwriter, and author best known as the lead guitarist and primary songwriter for The Band. Born Jaime Royal Robertson on July 5, 1943, in Toronto, Ontario, he crafted some of rock and roll's most enduring songs, including "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek." His memoir, "Testimony," offers a vivid account of his remarkable journey from the streets of Toronto to the heights of rock stardom. Robertson also wrote the children's book "Hiawatha and the Peacemaker," celebrating his Mohawk heritage. He passed away on August 9, 2023.
