Sattareh Farman Farmaian was an Iranian-American social worker and author, renowned for her compelling memoir, "Daughter of Persia." Born in 1921, she was a prominent member of Iran’s Qajar dynasty. Educated at the University of Southern California, she became Iran’s first female social worker. Farman Farmaian founded the Tehran School of Social Work in 1958, championing welfare and education reform, changing countless lives. Her memoir provides a poignant insight into Iranian society and politics during the 20th century. After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, she moved to the United States, continuing her advocacy until her passing in 2012.
