Kate Harris is a Canadian writer and explorer born in 1984. She is best known for her award-winning travel memoir *Lands of Lost Borders: A Journey on the Silk Road* (2018), which chronicles her bicycle journey along the Silk Road with fellow cyclist Mel Yule. Harris combines adventure narrative with philosophical reflection on exploration, borders, and what it means to be a modern-day wanderer. Her writing is distinguished by its lyrical prose and intellectual depth, weaving together history, science, and personal discovery. *Lands of Lost Borders* won the 2019 RBC Taylor Prize and was a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award, establishing Harris as a significant voice in contemporary travel writing.
