Richard Lancelyn Green was a preeminent British scholar and author, renowned for his extensive work on Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock Holmes. Born on July 10, 1953, in Bebington, England, he developed an early interest in Doyle's creation, becoming one of the world's leading authorities on the subject. Green co-authored "The Annotated Sherlock Holmes" and edited numerous Doyle-related publications, significantly contributing to the Holmesian community. His passion extended beyond academia; he amassed one of the largest private collections of Holmes memorabilia. Tragically, Green passed away in 2004, but his legacy endures in the world of Sherlock Holmes scholarship.
