Charles Osborne was an esteemed Australian-born literary critic, arts administrator, and novelist who spent much of his career in London. He served as literature director of the Arts Council of Great Britain and was assistant editor of The London Magazine. Beyond his distinguished career in arts administration, Osborne was a prolific author known for his expertise on opera, having written extensively about Verdi, Wagner, and Puccini. He also adapted several Agatha Christie stories for the stage, including ‟The Unexpected Guest" and ‟Murder in Three Acts", bringing the beloved mystery writer's works to new audiences through theatrical productions.
