Krystyna Chiger

Krystyna Chiger is best known for her memoir "The Girl in the Green Sweater," which recounts her harrowing childhood experience hiding from the Nazis during the Holocaust. Born in 1935 in Poland, she lived through the horrors of World War II as a young Jewish girl, spending over a year in the sewers of Lviv to survive. Her remarkable story highlights the resilience of the human spirit amidst unimaginable adversity. Following the war, Krystyna emigrated to the United States, where she built a life devoted to sharing her story and educating others about the importance of tolerance and remembrance.
