Pierre Bottero was a celebrated French fantasy author who captivated young readers with his richly imagined worlds. Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked as a teacher and dedicated himself to sharing his passion for literature with children. Bottero achieved widespread acclaim with his "La Quête d'Ewilan" series, featuring the beloved heroine Ewilan, followed by "Les Frontières de Glace" and the enchanting "Le Pacte des Marchombres" series, including "Ellana." His lyrical prose and compelling characters established him as a master of French young adult fantasy. Tragically, Bottero died in a motorcycle accident in 2009, leaving behind an enduring literary legacy.
