Cressida Cowell
About
Cressida Cowell is a renowned British author and illustrator, best known for her popular "How to Train Your Dragon" series, which inspired the successful film franchise by DreamWorks Animation. Born in 1966, Cowell developed a love for storytelling during her childhood summers spent on an uninhabited island off the west coast of Scotland. She studied English at Oxford University and Illustration at St. Martin's and Brighton University. Her books, celebrated for their humor, adventure, and heartwarming themes, have won multiple awards and captivated readers worldwide. Cowell is also an advocate for children's literacy, serving as the Children's Laureate from 2019 to 2021.
