Alice Randall is an American author, songwriter, and cultural critic known for her bold reimaginings of American narratives. She gained national attention with "The Wind Done Gone," a controversial parody of "Gone with the Wind" told from an enslaved woman's perspective. Her other acclaimed works include "Black Bottom Saints," which chronicles Black excellence through a fictional nightclub, and "Ada's Rules," a novel exploring weight, identity, and self-acceptance. A Harvard graduate and professor at Vanderbilt University, Randall has also written country music hits and contributes provocative commentary on race, culture, and Southern history to contemporary American literature.
