Viet Thanh Nguyen is a Pulitzer Prize-winning Vietnamese-American author and professor known for his profound contributions to literature and academia. Born in Vietnam in 1971, Nguyen immigrated to the United States in 1975 amidst the fall of Saigon. He is celebrated for his debut novel, "The Sympathizer," which earned him the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Nguyen's works often explore themes of identity, memory, and the immigrant experience, with a focus on the Vietnam War's lasting impacts. As a professor of English and American Studies at the University of Southern California, he continues to inspire through his writings and teachings.
