About

Kathleen Stock is a British philosopher and writer known for her work in aesthetics, philosophy of fiction, and gender-critical feminism. She is the author of "Material Girls: Why Reality Matters for Feminism", a provocative and widely discussed exploration of sex, gender identity, and feminist theory. A former professor of philosophy at the University of Sussex, Stock left her academic post in 2021 following a high-profile controversy over her views on gender identity. She continues to write and speak publicly on issues of free speech, academic freedom, and feminist philosophy, and is a co-founder of the think tank The Lesbian Project.
