Sherman Alexie

Sherman Alexie is a celebrated Native American author, poet, and filmmaker known for his poignant and often humorous works that explore themes of identity, race, and cultural conflict. Born on the Spokane Indian Reservation in Washington State in 1966, Alexie's acclaimed writing career began with his debut poetry collection, "The Business of Fancydancing." He gained widespread recognition with the novel "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven," which was adapted into the film "Smoke Signals."
