Quan Barry is an acclaimed Vietnamese American poet and novelist whose work explores themes of identity, memory, and the supernatural. She is the author of the novels "We Ride Upon Sticks," a witty tale of a 1980s high school field hockey team dabbling in the occult, "When I'm Gone, Look for Me in the East," and "She Weeps Each Time You're Born," which follows a Vietnamese girl who can hear the dead. Barry has also published several poetry collections. She is a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she teaches creative writing.
