Eric Carle (1929–2021) was a renowned American author and illustrator, celebrated for his captivating children's books. Best known for the timeless classic "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," Carle's distinctive art style combined hand-painted paper collages with vivid colors, sparking the imaginations of young readers worldwide. Born in Syracuse, New York, and raised in Germany, Carle returned to the U.S. to pursue a career in graphic design and advertising before crafting beloved picture books.
