Brian Broome

Brian Broome is an American author, poet, and educator based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University's creative writing program and has taught writing at the university level. Broome is best known for his debut memoir "Punch Me Up to the Gods," a raw and lyrical exploration of Black masculinity, addiction, and identity in America. The book was a finalist for the National Book Award and received widespread critical acclaim. Broome's work is celebrated for its unflinching honesty, poetic prose, and its deeply personal examination of race, trauma, and self-discovery.
