Romesh Gunesekera is a renowned Sri Lankan-born British author celebrated for his evocative prose and compelling narratives. Born in 1954, he grew up in Sri Lanka and the Philippines before moving to England. His acclaimed debut novel, "Reef," was shortlisted for the prestigious Booker Prize in 1994. Gunesekera’s writing often explores themes of identity, migration, and the complex interplay of personal and political histories. In addition to novels, he has published short stories and contributed to various literary anthologies. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Gunesekera continues to be a significant voice in contemporary literature.
