About

Braulio of Saragossa was a seventh-century Spanish bishop, theologian, and scholar who played a pivotal role in preserving and transmitting classical and ecclesiastical learning in Visigothic Iberia. As Bishop of Zaragoza from around 631 until his death in 651, he was a central figure in the intellectual and religious life of his era. A devoted disciple of the great Isidore of Seville, Braulio edited and organized Isidore's encyclopedic works. His own writings, including hagiographies and an extensive collection of letters, are gathered in "Iberian Fathers, Volume 2", offering invaluable insight into early medieval Spanish Christianity.
