Judith Kerr is a German-born British author and illustrator, born in 1923. She is best known for her beloved children's picture book *The Tiger Who Came to Tea* (1968), which has become a modern classic. Kerr also created the popular Mog series about a forgetful family cat, beginning with *Mog the Forgetful Cat* (1970). Her work is characterized by warm, detailed illustrations and gentle humor that appeals to both children and adults. Drawing on her own experiences as a refugee who fled Nazi Germany in childhood, Kerr has also written semi-autobiographical novels including *When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit* (1971). Her contributions to children's literature have earned her widespread acclaim and numerous awards.
