Rick Veitch is an American comic book writer and artist celebrated for his bold, imaginative storytelling and his willingness to push the boundaries of the medium. He is best known for his groundbreaking run on DC Comics' "Swamp Thing," where he succeeded Alan Moore and continued to explore the series' rich blend of horror, philosophy, and ecological themes. Veitch is also the creator of the acclaimed series "Brat Pack" and "Maximortal," both sharp satirical deconstructions of superhero mythology. A graduate of the Joe Kubert School, he remains an influential and provocative voice in independent and mainstream comics alike.
