Melanie Mitchell

Melanie Mitchell is an American complexity scientist and professor at the Santa Fe Institute, where she studies artificial intelligence, cognitive science, and complex systems. She is the author of "Artificial Intelligence: A Guide for Thinking Humans" and "Complexity: A Guided Tour," the latter of which won the 2010 Phi Beta Kappa Award in Science.
