Olesya Salnikova Gilmore is a Russian-American author of historical fantasy novels that weave Slavic folklore with richly atmospheric storytelling. Her debut novel, "The Witch and the Tsar", reimagines the legend of Baba Yaga against the backdrop of Ivan the Terrible's Russia. She followed with "The Haunting of Moscow House", a gothic tale set in post-revolutionary Russia, and "The Fortune Tellers of Rue Daru", exploring the Russian émigré community in 1920s Paris. Born in Russia and raised in the United States, Gilmore draws on her bicultural heritage to create vivid, immersive narratives that bridge history, myth, and magic.
