Lady Sarashina, also known as Sugawara no Takasue no Musume, was an esteemed Japanese author and noblewoman from the Heian period, best known for her literary work, "The Sarashina Nikki" (The Sarashina Diary). Born in 1008, she was the daughter of Sugawara no Takasue, a provincial governor.
